10-8 Forums is intended to be different from the glut of existing Internet forums, seemingly filled with self anointed experts and "keyboard commandos". In an attempt to maintain quality control and discourage misconduct, the following Rules and Regulations have been established. While requirements for registration at 10-8 Forums are slightly more invasive than any other tactics or firearms related forum on the Internet, we believe these measures are necessary to minimize misbehavior and maximize intelligent discourse. If you feel that the process is too invasive to your privacy, we understand. Simply do not register. You will still be allowed to read the forum.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY AND SEND IN ALL REQUESTED DOCUMENTATION FOR PROPER PROCESSING OF YOUR REGISTRATION REQUEST.

1. All users must register with their full true name as their DISPLAY NAME. No aliases, handles or nicknames. Those with legitimate reasons for privacy, (i.e. department/employer policies, etc.,) should contact us and articulate specific factors why they need anonymity. If given approval, you may then register with a derivative of your name. Examples of such could be "J. Browning" or "John B.". Please properly capitalize names when registering.

2. ALL registrants must email a scan of a government issued ID to 10-8forums AT earthlink.net Examples of acceptable identification would be a state issued driver's license or identification card, a current passport, or law enforcement ID. If you are sending a military ID, please also send a copy of a state issued ID. This is to ensure all users that register are indeed real people, and are who they say they are. Please send all images in JPG format and resize your images to around 360 kilobytes, and no more than 500 kilobytes. If you were invited by a moderator or administrator, you still need to send an email to the above listed address to indicate by whom you were invited so that we can verify your identity.

3. IN ADDITION to the above, you must meet ONE of the following criteria, and send scanned verification (if applicable to category):

A. Active duty military or FULL TIME law enforcement. Retired status is okay.

OR

B. Industry professional. Owner, operator, representative, etc., of a manufacturer or service provider in the LE, Military or shooting industry.

OR

C. Specifically invited by a Forum Moderator. Please have that moderator email us to verify.

OR

D. Provide scanned documentation of at least 40 hours of completed training by a recognized firearms school or instructor.

4. We do not currently have FAX capability. If you do not have a scanner, you may take a CLEAR digital photograph of your ID with a digital camera. As an alternative, you may wish to use the services of a Kinko's or other copy service near you that may have a scanner.

5. After you complete the forum registration process, it will be placed in a Registration Queue until an administrator approves it. All documents must be sent in within the same day of your online registration application or your application will be denied. Your registration will be usually be approved within 30 days, depending on our workload. Remember that we all have full time jobs and a heavy training/teaching schedule in addition to running the forums. Please be patient. Thank you.

6. Once approved, you may post topics and replies on the forums. All posts become the property of 10-8 Consulting.

7. 10-8 Consulting and forum Moderators cannot be held responsible for the accuracy or validity of any post on this forum.

8. 10-8 Forums is intended to be a meeting place for industry professionals and end-users. Limit your posts to topics you know from first hand knowledge or experience. If you are relaying information from a trusted source, post as much information as you are able to regarding the source, along with when and where you received that information. The information you present can then be evaluated accordingly.

9. 10-8 Forums IS NOT the place to propagate gunstore gossip, Internet rumor, or other spurious information.

10. All sales of firearms and other equipment must comply with federal, state and local laws. It is the registrant's responsibility to know and comply with all regulations.

11. Class or product announcements are encouraged. SPAM is not. Do not use this forum solely to promote your products or services. We aren't here to provide free advertising for you. All users must have a MINIMUM OF 30 posts before they may post items for sale in the For Sale section of the board. Strings of "me too" posts to artificially increase post count does not count as contribution.

12. 10-8 Consulting reserves the right to delete any post or revoke posting privileges of any member for any reason at any time.
