Stock Kimber part feels too fat, so I'm trying to figure out whether I can buy a McCormick Grip Safety and virtually "drop it in" to a Kimber without "fitting."

I know it wouldn't be properly "blended" - but will an unaltered McCormic Grip Safety drop into a Kimber's frame-cut? I tried to get a Kimber Warrier grip safety as a spare part, but they're either out of stock or discontinued.

I know the tab inside may have to be tweeked to function properly, but that doesn't "show." My work generally "works" - but it doesn't look good enough to be seen in public...

The radius will be correct but the frame edges will cut into your hand like knife edges if they aren't blended.

Remember that there is no such thing as a 'drop in' part when it comes to the 1911. If a certain part happens to drop in, it was by luck and don't expect it to be repeatable because it probably won't be.

Thanks, Tim - for saving me from all that.

Since I don't want to re-contour and refinish the frame, I guess I'm back to looking for a take-off grip safety from a Kimber Warrior (it's always "Out of Stock" on their website).
